Libertarians in NW Michigan Plan Fall Agenda as State Party Claims Major Party Status

There are a few good Libertarians in Northwest Michigan uniting to build a Fall 2017 program while working towards becoming an official affiliate of the Libertarian Party of Michigan.

The group will begin monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month in Traverse City. We did our best to make it centrally located for the vast area we cover. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th at Schelde’s Bar and Grill, 714 Munson. The meeting starts at 7, though 6:30 is social time.

We are energized by the fact that the Libertarian Party of Michigan now has “official party status” in Michigan based on last year’s election. This means that the rules have changed! It’s time to get behind some Libertarian candidates on a local level.

We hope to unite state and national Libertarians who live in the nine county area of Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim, Leelanau, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Benzie, Manistee, Wexford, and Missaukee Counties. Those in unaffiliated surrounding counties are also welcome!!

In addition, we welcome anyone who wants to join our party, or attend our upcoming meetings and events.

What are the current plans?
At this meeting, Tim Yow, Affiliate Director of the Michigan Libertarian party will discuss how we can build our group to become an official Libertarian Party Affiliate.

We plan to have speakers at each meeting and a set agenda, and we welcome any ideas for local speakers. Our primary goal is to get Libertarian candidates elected and take our country back! This will involve building our local membership and promoting Libertarian ideas.

We hope to see you on September 19 at 7:00 at Schelde’s Bar and Grill, 714 Munson, Traverse City.
